It's funny how things change

Let me preface this with the fact that I despise feet. I think feet are disgusting, I don't even like my own. This makes this incredibly ironic that Molly's feet are the almost the only things on her that look like me. She has my lips and my feet. Go figure.

What's even funnier is that I love her little feet. She is fascinated by them---she HAS to put them on EVERYTHING. When I set her in my lap she puts them on my chin. She stares at her feet for 5 minutes at a time and loves to kick the dog. This kid HATES socks. She can't stare at her feet with socks on!

So, in honor of my hatred of feet and my love of Molly's feet and Molly's love of Molly's feet, here are some pictures of her staring at her feet and her feet by themselves. I think they are the cutest feet that have ever (not) walked this earth.

Things I love for Molly

Do these really need an explanation? Get a few packs and keep them everywhere!

Some people like their Pack N' Plays, some don't, but I am one that does. If you plan to co-sleep in the early weeks you need a Pack N' Play with a bassinet. It's nice because it makes it easy to get Molly at night to nurse her. The changing table came in handy the first few weeks, but is not so useful now.

Freddie the Firefly is the first toy Molly really took any interest in. She loves to squeeze his wings and look at herself in the mirror. The other day she was clutching the lady bug hanging off his wings and would not let go!

I have three covers for my Boppy, but the one it came with is my favorite. As you can probably tell if you read my blog on a regular basis, I take a lot of Molly's pictures in her boppy. It was great for breastfeeding in the early days, now it's great to set Molly in. She loves it. You can also use the Boppy for Tummy Time.

Disposable changing pads are great for when you have diaper blowouts and don't really want to set the baby anywhere. I really like the Huggies ones, they are great. I highly recommend getting a few packs of these and putting them all over the place. You never know when you are going to need one!

I won a years supply of free Huggies from Enjoy the Ride Rewards (if you haven't signed up yet, do it, it's awesome!) so we use either Huggies Little Snugglers or Huggies Pure and Naturals. They're great and even hold up well overnight!

I was given this in the hospital and it works really really well. Yes, it does take work to hand pump, but I have not had to purchase an electric pump yet. Hopefully I will find a job soon and then I will need to get an electric one :)

Molly LOVES to stare at the lights on her play mat. If I need time to myself I put her on this and she is entertained for atleast 15 minutes if not longer. I also really like this because the music is very calming and not at all annoying like some childrens music is.

Molly loves to sit up, so the Bumbo is great. Hers is a light green color, but it's the same as the picture shown. She sits in the Bumbo and watches Baby Mozart on Youtube and laughs. It's absolutely adorable!

This bouncer is AWESOME. Whenever I put her in it she laughs and stares at the owl. She also recently started grabbing onto the side of the bouncer and holding herself up. It's too funny and absolutely adorable. If you want a great bouncer at a great price, get this one.

You're Not Cool Unless You Drool

What to Expect-Teething Symptoms

I didn't expect this to happen so early.

Did you know teething can start 2-3 months before your child even gets a tooth? I didn't, until now! Molly has been so restless and gnaws on everything she can get her little hands on. Luckily I have the mentality of a 15 year old when it comes to purchases, so I bought her the $20.00 Sophie teether months before she made her grand entrance in this world. All the cool babies had one!

If you don't know what Sophie is, you're totally missing out. It's a glorified dog toy, really, but Molly loves it. Sophie made of natural rubber and food paint and is "environmentally friendly." You can buy one on Amazon.

Anyway, back to this whole teething thing. There needs to be a book written called "Things no-one Ever told you nor will ever tell you about having a baby, because if they did nobody will  reproduce ever again." I cannot BELIEVE she has 2-3 more months of this drooling, crying, fussing phase until she gets a tooth. Throw this in with her 4 month shots she has coming up and the inevitable growth spurt and it will make for one fun ride!

Oh well, atleast I can get cute pictures of her eating her hands/gnawing on Sophie.  She refuses to smile when the camera is out anymore--she just stares at it. Smart girl!

You Changed My World With Just One Smile

Molly is so curious--she loves to eat her hands and check things out. Her new favorite fasination is with my water bottles! She's tried to knock full ones out of my hands several times, so I gave her an empty one to check out. She immediately tried to put it in her mouth, and when she realized that it wasn't plausible, she stared at it.
She smiles all the time now and is so happy. I never in my wildest dreams thought that motherhood would be this rewarding and amazing.

Sleep is for the Weak

Molly has this keen ability to sense, even when sound asleep and snoring, that she has been set down and that it's time to wake up. The picture above is a perfect example of this. She had fallen asleep at 6:00 and was out cold in my lap. I set her down in her carseat (her favorite napping spot) and she immediately woke up.The face above says "Mom, why the eff did you put me down? I was nice and warm and cozy in your lap!"

Last night was a perfect example of her complete disregard of any sort of sleeping pattern. A few moms on thebump mentioned swaddling helped their infant sleep through the night. This solution sounds simple enough--if you have a child that enjoys being swaddled. Molly scoffs at the swaddle. "Pin my arms down---As if!" Operation Swaddle was a complete fail. I put her in her Swaddle Me blanket and held her little arms down to swaddle her. She cried at first, but then I fed her and she fell asleep. I fell asleep thinking that she was out for the night, that since she fell asleep so well that she wouldn't wake up at all.

I was wrong. She woke up her usual, every 2-3 hours and I got rid of the swaddle at 4 am.

The floor is now open to STTN suggestions, because I have run out of ideas.

A Mother's Christmas List

- A full night of sleep where I don't wake up worrying that she is sleeping longer than normal and lose sleep because she is actually sleeping
- The ability to be on the phone with someone important (A potential employer, perhaps?) without a)being puked on during it b)farting noises in the background, along with grunting and c)screaming that ensues because someone is not being paid attention to
- For someone to invent an all in one, oral, great tasting vaccination for all the infant vaccinations--no more fretting about the monthly shots and having to deal with the wrath of an angry baby in the days after
- A never-ending milk supply and the ability to pump a 5 ounce bottle, even after she has just eaten
- To never have to wonder what the eff she is screaming about when she is fed, changed, warm and basically not in need of anything

In all honesty, all I want this upcoming year is for her to be healthy and happy and grow on track.  Although, all of the above would be great :)
