She likes tummy time-- which is good because it helps her develop neck/shoulder muscles, but seconds after this was taken she threw up all over her play mat. We will try again tonight :)
It was such a challenge trying to figure out what I needed/didn't need. I did most of my shopping on Craigslist, and bought things new that necessarily should be bought new.
Here's my list for the first 2 weeks of things I have used and love:
Disposable Changing Pads (Huggies brand)-- SO much easier than washable "piddle" pads, in my opinion. If she makes a mess I can just throw it away. Little girls pee on you just like boys--- go figure! I put one down on her play mat and change her there, I also have one on her changing pad to cut down on having to do laundry (washing the changing pad cover). Huggies Changing Pads - Disposable, Case of 40 (5 packs of 8 pads)
Lots of wipes and Boureadux Butt Paste. I like the butt paste better than Desitin because it smells better. Desitin is kind of stinky. I use Pamper's Sensitive wipes and she has not had any issues with them.
Kiddopotamus Swaddle Mes- I have four of them---2 fleece and 2 cotton. She loves them. I have a ton of receiving blankets but have only used these to swaddle her in. Kiddopotamus SwaddleMe Microfleece Small, Sage
Boppy Pillow and a couple extra covers for it. I took my Boppy to the hospital and used it from the beginning while breastfeeding. It has been wonderful.Boppy Bare Naked Expandable Miracle Middle Pillow
Breast pads and Lanisoh-- I use Lanisoh after I shower and put new breast pads in. I found that if I don't use breast pads my nipples stick to my nursing bra and it is PAINFUL to pull them off. Lansinoh Breast Cream, 2-Ounce Bottle (Pack of 3)
Lots and lots and lots of onesies. We go through about 4 a day.
Lotion-- her skin got really dry and I put it on her while she ate
Nail File- her nails were really long after she was born and she scratched her face. I file her nails while she eats if she needs it
I think that's about it for now. I will add more as I think of things :)
I haven't put batteries in it yet, but she loves to lay on the mat and stare at the different "attachments". I can't wait to see what she thinks of it when there are sounds and lights!
